I've replaced my front axle with one from a 1990 K5 (same on rear). I bought my 62 without a front driveshaft and am searching for one. Trying to just get the front shaft length (51") correct, I can get the ends to match the K5 and the Rockwell transfer case, but I'm running out of places to find the shaft. Can I use a rear driveshaft on the front, if I get the length right? or? The book says the K5 front shaft is 16", so that isn't gonna work, so not sure where to find/what to look for.

Working on 62 4x4 C10 I traded for, replaced axles, now on steering column and brakes.

Chances of finding an exact fit, from another application, is rather challenging and exhaustive, if not impossible. Many driveshaft shops offer this service and you can have one made, specific to your application. I found a driveline shop, near my shop, that custom-fabricate them, to your specifications.

As above. Long ago, I needed a driveshaft for my 66 c-10. The guy at the driveshaft shop told me to measure from the seal on my trans to the flat of the rear end flange. He was able to determine the correct length from there, allowing for travel. Any driveshaft/universal shop should be able to make one for you.

The 90 K5 came with around a 30" or so front shaft, but it would have had a Saginaw 3R CV at the transfer case end. You are destined to visit a driveshaft shop. If you find something that bolts right in, go buy a lottery ticket!
