Run a wire from the positive cable connection on your starter to the positive connection on your coil.Make sure the truck has fuel, You may have to pour a small amount of gas into the carburetor. This should let you know if it is going to run. My truck is a 49 5 window 216 3800 just like yours. Let me know how it goes. Terry
