mounting and such aside, is a th350 the same length as a sm420?

as in, the driveshaft can stay the same length and such.

and yokes and such?

just curious as to the generalities.

thanks!

sam.

1969 K20 , with a '67 front clip. fleetside. 292, 3x1 offy, headers. sm465 4spd. getting put back together, almost ready for paint.
doing it all myself.

"proper" is so over-rated.

I don't know for sure about the lengths...but the 420 will have a fixed yoke on the output shaft and the 350 will require a slip yoke.

The TH350 is about twice as long as the sm420. My first 63 C20 lwb had a TH400, with a one piece drive shaft. I'm hoping the one piece (I've still got it)will work with an A833.

I don't own a vehicle that isn't old enough to drink.
