Is there a way to "clean" it out and what should I refill it with? Read some about Lucis Oil any comements? And will this help with easer steering???? Thanks Paul

Flushing with keresene or parts cleaner is the only way I know of to "clean" one out. The fancy high end lubricants won't do anything more except lighten your wallet. There are tons of us Tri-Five guys using grease. | | |

It was always much heavier than 90 wieght. Some folks say that standard weight grease will not "flow" into the right places in the steering box components. (There is a term that I can't remember for this.) Penrite is the stuff that most folks say is the best, but is made in Europe and hard to find. The other often recommended product is John Deere Corn Head Grease. I got some at local dealer Deere Dealer for about $3.00 a tube. Seems to work fine. | | |
