I bought headliner for this truck Installed the front and back headliner. My question is how does the center get put together blind clips or what?

You should have a center rib support that the center retainer mounts to. The headliner slides in at the center and is retained front and rear with trim strips. I have mine at the chrome shop now but have seen some stainless.

I thought that is how the center is put together but I don't have the center strip. I have looked in all of the parts places and have not found one. Do you know where I could get one?

I have half of what you need. I have the base bow but not the trim piece that screws to the base bow. the base bow attaches with two screws above each door opening.

I really don't understand the terms let me understand what I need comes in 3 pieces? You have the bow that goes across the top of the cab? I will still need the pieces that attaches the bow to the top of the doors?

There is just two pieces, There's the piece that mounts closest to the roof and the other piece mounts to it. The piece I have mounts closest to the roof it requires two mounting screws for each side. The piece I do not have mounts to the piece I have I think with about 6 screws which divides the headliner. If you look midways between the upper door sill you should see two screw holes on each side. I guess I could take a picture of the piece I have. Hope this helps. G

There are 1 piece either ABS or Fiberglass available from Chevs of the 40's, the Filling Station or Jim carters. I have seen the pieces on ebay for the two piece.

Does anybody put (or have recommendations) for insulation between the headliner and metal roof?

oldbluetruck, I have insulated the roof of my 46. I first put a layer of peel-n-seal on the metal roof to cut down on the noise, then I got a water heater blanket, you know the ones that are foil on one side and ground up carpet on the other. I used 3m spray adhesive to glue it up to the roof. Shinney side towards the interior of the cab.

It's been that way for about 8 years now and works fine.

Unfortuneately, I looked up the peel-n-seal and it was not available in any Lowes near me. I wonder why?

Here's the outer or exposed bow of center trim on ebay that you need. Now all you need is the piece this mounts to.
