I tried this in the paint and body forum, but it was suggested moving it here. I don't know how to move the topic, so I'll start over.

The tag on my '61 c20 says:

Paint: STD
Trim: SPEC

There's no numbers or anything else. ??
It looks to be Neptune Green. But what does the tag mean?

Probably a company work truck painted by the factory in the companies' colors. Standard base paint. Special additional color somewhere on the truck. Is it Neptune Green all over the entire truck?

Well, under the hood on the front cowl is what I would call "forest service" green. Others have told me that it is called "Neptune Green". Front of the truck (hood, cab, fenders, etc...) were all pretty much that color. The interior is a silvery grey/green with dark grey dash. The bed, however, was mostly black. I'm not sure if it is original, though. The previous owner thought it might have been replaced at some point.

Oh, the hood pod covers where the turn signals were black when I got it. But around the grille area was white.

I take the bed color back. It is that green color under the black.
I don't know why, I just always thought it had been a Forest Service truck. It has a hole in the cab roof where a spotlight had been mounted. But I don't see any signs of decals on the doors. hmm..

Can a VIN number check be done, and where do I go to do that?

Thanks! The closest I can match would be #1513 Light Aqua.

However, I'm leaning toward a medium grey with white accents. Ever since I saw Bob Rhea's '61 in the gallery I can't get the color out of my head. Though, this round it won't be metallic paint, just plain tractor paint.

Hopefully, that will hold her over until I can have it done professionally. :-)
