If so, where?
Any recommendations on a supplier?

Inside the truck doors was windlace which was made to act as a weather strip of sorts. It was held in place by the narrow trim pieces around the door opening from the bottom of the latch side, up the side to the top and across the top where the trim piece stops. At that point the windlace moves to the door itself down the hinge side to the bottom. There was a piece of rubber that went across the bottom of the door sill that had some sealing ability. That was it!

Last question, Jim Carter's offers the windlace in both black and brown; which is closest to the original?

Even the blue and the black truck had brown interiors, not just the seats , but the whole interior. The dash and the door panels along with the the top back of the cab and the metal trim pieces were painted in a wrinkle brown

Am I missing a piece of trim, or should I insert the windlace between the door frame and the sheet metal of the cab interior?
BTW, Fillingstation.com has a Cab Windlace Vertical Retainer (http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000014a~Z5Z5Z5AAEOQ~P25.00~~~~S3970NIANH24153214050G~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000014x#) that they say fits vertically between the dash and the floor. What would be the purpose of this? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 | There is an actual metal strip that goes over the sheet metal of the interior that holds the weather strip on around the door. The part I'm talking about is about 35" long. Below it, the stripping fits behind the cab re-enforcement piece to the bottom of the door. The strip above the door finishes out the cab part of the windlace. At the top of the door where it hits the front piler, the strip starts on the door itself to the bottom of the door. The part The Filling Station has sounds like it fits the edge of the kick panel below the dash.

Between your description, Alvin's pics and some others I've found on the web I think I understand. Looks like I'm missing that 35" metal strip you mention that would hold the windlace to the latch side of the door opening. | | |
