I do not know if a rubber pad goes on the underside (this mount was not used on '54 1/2 ton, even though the catalog says it was). Maybe someone who knows will post an answer. Tim | | |

I just went through my assembly manual and could not find a picture of the mount. I did dig mine out of the pile of parts and look at it. Mine is also missing the rubber parts, but I think the rubber parts go on each side of the large flat plate. This would mean the rubber parts would have to be cut to go on the two studs or the studs would have to be replaced with bolts. Some companies will re-vulcanize the assembly if you send off your pieces. I found an old piece of thick conveyor belting and made my own. As it is in layers I could strip off the areas I wanted to set the bolts and such in. Frankly its not rocket science and you should be able to figure it out.
As a matter of interest I had a 53 on which the pad was never installed. There was no connection between the trans and the crossmember. It worked fine but I did fix it properly when I pulled the engine and trans for a rebuild. | | |
