Second, post some pictures of the truck so we can all see what you have. There is a VIN decoder in the tech tips: Your truck is a 1949 3800 1-ton built in September of that year in Janesville, WI. I could not find the match for your engine pre-fix maybe someone else can, the block casting number would be more helpful. No stupid questions good luck!
