When the headers are placed the studs go into the hole but don't have any threads sticking out...and I can't remember if the stock exhaust had a nut on there. Or are the studs just for alignment ?

I also like to remove the 2 guide pins at te very outer ends of the exhaust manifold and replace them with bolts for better sealing. I torque them to the same 15-20 ft/lbs as the others.Carb can be installed on the manifold before or after, might be easier to hadle the manifold with it off, though.
