I am looking to replace the line from the motor to the oil pressure gauge , but when I take the old one to the FLAPS all i get are stares ohwell .Seems like the old line had fittings that crimped themselves to the line as it was tightened similar to a compression fitting ,but not quite. So what am I missing? What has everyone else done?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Hy Village_Idiot, that system was called "threaded sleeve", Weatherhead still make it. The nuts for 1/8" tube are p/n 6100X2, if you need anything else to put it back together just let us know, hope that helps.

3B,
As always thanks for the info it is much appreciated.I did a google search for Weatherhead and came up with a site for Eaton which apparently bought out Weatherhead.I searched their site for part # 6100 and came up empty so I searched "threaded sleeve" and came up empty. Do you know of a supplief for this item? I even tried MSC which is a distributor of the Weatherhead fittings....just not these.

Again thank you for your time.

Hy Village_Idiot, you are correct Eaton did acquire Weatherhead I did get a couple of 6100X2 nuts a couple of weeks ago from my FLAPS for a friends 54 Buick. When you search use the whole number "6100X2" 6100 is just the series part identifier and without the "X2" it doesn't represent a part. Any good FLAPS that has sold Weatherhead would recognise the number and would be able to check for availability if they don't stock it, hope that helps.
