I'm wondering if you can put a 3.55 or simular ratio in an early torque tube without using a kit?

I have a 39 car & I want to put in a ring & pinion from a powerglide rear end. Is there a way to cut & weld shaft?

Sorry...I realize this isn't a truck but I'm getting desperate to find an answer.

Any help is appreciated....thanks

It might be easier to swap out the complete '39 rear torque tube and replace it with the entire powerglide torque tube setup.

I agree but the powerglide tube is 3" longer.
