I need to purchase a relacement muffler,
2 pipes in,2 pipes out, for a dual set up.
I'm unsure of the proper length and width to buy. Magnaflow, for example, have lengths that vary from 14" to 24" and widths from 9" to 11" If you have any stock dimensions or suggestions on size, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Why not run two separate glass packs, sound great. Should be muffler shops around with lots of choices.

Thanks for the suggestion. In my neck of the woods I can't have the sound too loud. A nice rumble is ok.

Magnaflows are loud in my experience.

Rule of thumb... With mufflers of the same width/height/internal baffling, the longer they are the quieter they are.

In the long run for your money.take it to a muffler shop.they can do the complete job cheaper than you can buy the parts yourself.hope your using a split manifold.the sound is one of a kind.bad to the bone

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that theory. The muffler could be any brand really. Magnaflow was a convenient catalog example.

I have all the parts except the muffler to complete the system. After assembly and a couple of tack welds, a friend will finish the weld up for me.

The longer they are the quieter they are, and in my experience the longer they are the more they remove the higher notes leaving low mellow tones. I don't like the high cackle and always run long mufflers or glass packs. My brother bought a Beretta with somebody’s version of ‘fast and furious‘ exhaust and replaced it with the longest glass pack he could find. You could hardly hear the car run at idle, but if you stood right next to it you could feel the low notes and it always made people wonder what was under the hood. My brother said ‘it’s easier to avoid the cops with a silencer on your Beretta’.
