For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 52 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 52 | I'm wondering if you can put a 3.55 or simular ratio in an early torque tube without using a kit?
I have a 39 car & I want to put in a ring & pinion from a powerglide rear end. Is there a way to cut & weld shaft?
Sorry...I realize this isn't a truck but I'm getting desperate to find an answer.
Any help is appreciated....thanks | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 | It might be easier to swap out the complete '39 rear torque tube and replace it with the entire powerglide torque tube setup.
