Easy question.....found an original 1952 license plate for my 1952 3100 truck and want to mount it on the front bumper. Does the bracket mount to the bumper bracket or to the splash panel? Also, what it the correct location? Left or right side or center? Why? Easier for the police to see them when driving by. Since a front plate is not required here in SC andd it will not match the rear plate, I guess it doesn't matter which side I mount it. Fortunately, new repro brackets are available from many sources.
Just purchased a 1952 3100 a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it. It underwent a complete restoration about 15 years ago but has seen plenty of use since then. As a matter of fact, the guy I bought the truck from drove it from CA to NC about ten years ago when he and his wife moved.

But ya can put a bracket on there correctly,and put a Vanity Plate,Historic Plate etc.
And then put a Stovebolt Topper on it!
