hello, i'm starting to restore a 1941 chevy 1.5 ton that's in pretty rough shape. Please check out the photos. what parts are interchangeable from the 1/2 ton, and 1 ton, to the 1.5 ton? I'm particularly interested in the windshield frame, gas tank, radiator and support frame, wheel cylinders, starter, generator, and anything else that commonly needs restoration that i may need. if there is a book that anyone would recommend i would appreciate it. i already have the owner's and shop manual.

Also, I'm converting from 6 to 12 volt. On ebay, prices for wiring harnesses vary from $80.00 to $500.00. Why the disparity? can anyone recommend a good mid level conversion harness? Thanx for your input.

The cabs are interchangeable. The gas tank may have been mounted under the frame on a 1.5ton. But you could use it under the seat. I think the radiator support frame is the same but a larger capacity radiator. The engines and transmissions would be the same if the 1/2 ton was optioned with a 4spd(except the 1/2 has an enclosed drivetrain). Otherwise the brakes, frame, and drivetrain are different from 1/2ton. You could use the rearend from the 1-ton, it should be the same. More of the parts from the 1 ton are interchangeable with the 1.5ton.
