| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 78 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 78 | I have a 53 3100 1/2 ton that I'm restoring with my Dad. For some reason the 3 speed column shifter will not budge. It will not go into gear. Its like its frozen. We pulled it out and have been soaking it in water to try and free it up but no luck yet. Any recommendations on what caused this and what the fix is? I haven't been able to find reproduction shifter for sale anywhere. Thanks for your help

I'd get it out of the water and squirt it with a lubricant on a regular basis and keep working at it. PB Blaster, WD40 or just plain old tranny fluid or oil would be better than water. | | |
