Gary going from left too right on a 1954 you have, brake release(below dash) light switch, Pull out once for park twice for highs twist too dim gauges, High low beam should be a foot operated switch on the left one in from the foot brake, Upper dash little button knob that is for the wipers (vaccum driven) next over Right side of gauges should be choke then ignition (simple on / off) below the dash should be a lever for the cowl fresh air scoop push down and forward, then will be a radio blank plate, then the hand throttle knob , On the floor should be on the far left the foot brake Hi low beams ,the clutch, brake pedal, gas/ accelerater and finally the foot starter . If you have a whats called the fresh air heater your have controls for that too But i dont so dont know where they are situated . Congrats on getting your truck now the fun and money spending will really start lol

Gary,

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your truck.

I should have looked at your old posts. Please let us know when you have started your truck (need I ask this)?

If your truck is pretty much stock, you are in luck regarding finding manuals on-line (at the website Peter linked-to above).

HI .... Thanks everyone, great help.

I have some issues to sort out, the button on top of dash does not seem to be connected at all to the wiper mechanism, are parts available ?.
Also what is the setting for the POINTS and TAPPETS.

Hi Gary setting the valves is explained here http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/valveadjustment.htm
And in the original owners manual here
http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyowner/54tom24.htm
And for the points here
http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyowner/54tom31.htm
As for your wiper dilema , I just changed mine over to an electrical conversion.
Should you require it (and being originally from the UK so I know it rains like hell there) so you will. My advice is swap over too the electric ones. Or put in a vaccum reservior. That way when you accelerate your wipers wont stop. I used a old little camping Gas cylinder with a nipple soldered in the just hid it under the truck.

Gary,

Does your 1954 Chevrolet truck have the original radio in it? If it does, you will not find an aftermarket electric radio that will fit properly with the original speaker in place.

Is your truck still 6v?

Ryan,

Does your truck have an original radio in it? If it does and your aftermarket electrical wiper works, what is the vendor and part number of the wiper?

Is you truck and/or wiper 6v or 12v?
