If there was no repair/rework that does seem a tad high for an in person quote. A phone quote will often be high because they can't see what needs to be done until they have the part in hand. Every chromer I've dealt with will shoot a firm bid if the part(s) is sent to them for inspection. If the price is too high they send the part back untouched and on their dime.

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 283 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 283 | Don't know where you are, but there is a chrome shop in Fruitland Idaho, Treasure Valley Chrome. They do nice, not show, but nice chrome work and at reasonable prices. I have used show shops like Paul's in Pa. for some of my chrome, and their work is truly show,but their prices reflect the extra work they must go to in turning out show chrome. Also, as was pointed out earlier, cost really does depend on the condition of your piece. Rust holes can be much more spendy to fix than straight, but not deeply rusted pieces. Good luck with it - let us know what you find.
