I'm looking for an aftermarket tachometer to put in my truck. What rpm range should I be looking for with my stock 216 and 4-spd manual?

i made mine 0-35*100 with one hundred rpm increments.

Where did you pick yours up at?

51 ashton - which one did you get? I was looking at their 6v tachs a while back.

i got the 3CT33-2-6V. it has a three inch face. i like it because its easy to see and read at all rpms.

How is it hooked up? Did it come ready to go or did you have to modify anything on the tach or truck for it to work?

mount it wherever you want. one wire goes to the dist. and one to ground. directions are in the box.

Cool! I was thinking about getting one of those plastic carbon fiber a-pillar pods and mounting it directly in my line of sight along with my battery temp and blinker fluid gauges.

Just kidding.


I'll probably just mount it to the column somewhere. What I really meant was how it 'plugged in'. I was hoping it was close to plug and play and I wouldn't have to modify anything mechanical to get a reading.

the only thing mechanical on it is the hose clamp that secures it to the steering column. it's so simple even a cave man could do it.
