Can't seem to be able to find Kroils locally. Anybody know where u can buy it or a suitable replacement? None of the "big name" auto parts stores carry it, at least around here. (Roanoke, Va.)

for those who have not ordered any lately now may be the time. I got a letter from Kano last week and the products are going up the first of June. Its not going up much but when its already a little pricey a couple dollars is right much..... but it IS the BEST!

Received the Kroil today. 8 oz. can. Put in 235 motor that sat for-ever-so-long (that's Bedford Co. Va. speak) and smoked like a train when I first started it about 2 weeks ago. I ran it some more, just in the driveway this past weekend and still smoked. Maybe not quite as bad, but still bad. You'd be embarrassed to drive it bad. Used all 8 oz. in spark plug holes. I did get 2 aerosol cans with order. They were supposed to be free. Will update this weekend on smoke and cost. Hope u guys are right, I don't want to rebuild the motor. It's only temporary while I collect all the Hot Rod parts!!! That's the current plan anyway.

The 1-gallon can is by far the best bang for the buck, and the stuff doesn't go stale. I use a small pump oiler, and the only problem is making sure it doesn't tip over- - - -the stuff will creep past any sort of threaded joint in a matter of minutes!
Jerry

Edit: If you drained the oil pan first, you can recycle that 8 ounces several times. Just drain it out of the pan and pour it into the cylinders again. I've freed up rusted-tight engines with it, and it always goes through the rust, past the pistons, and ends up in the oil pan in recoverable amounts.

Too late. Already put in motor. But the next guy can use that info. Thanks. Hopefully I'll never work on enough "stuff" that requires a gal. of this Kroil. I'm gettin' too old for this rusted stuff- but yes, some people enjoy it or find it a challenge. Update on wether it worked coming up this weekend.

I use a 50/50 mix of Kroil and Shooter's Choice bore cleaner to clean my hunting and target rifles. The Ammonia in the Shooter's Choice gets the copper fouling out, and the Kroil creeps under all the powder fouling and loosens it so a clean, tight cotton patch can push it out. Clean rifles shoot little bitty groups!

Yep, I can go right to their home office and pick mine up. I got started using Kroil back in the 1960's in the Air Force. It was on bench stock in every aircraft electronics shop I worked in worldwide.
