In my 1965 chevrolet book it shows how to read the tag on my drivers side upper door panel.The first 3 are c14.According to the book this is a C14,and not a C10,as I thought.What is a C14?

C is 2 wheel drive.
14 is 1/2 ton shortbed 115" wheelbase.

C10 is the "generic" short 1/2T series, which will be on the badges of any 1/2T body, the 4 shows it's a pickup rather than something other, like a panel .... you actually have a 1404 model if it's a stepside, a 1434 if it's a fleetside, but you'll rarely see the full number refered to

10 is the series name. Individual trucks have a designation but all half tons are part of the '10 family'
