Title pretty much says it all. I'd LOVE to have a clock in the dash of my truck, but I want it to look like it's supposed to be there.

I know they were available for '55-'59 GMC, but how about the later Chevys? (or GMCs for that matter)

These are images I found on the internet. I believe the attached clock page is from the 1963 Chevy accessory sales brochure, which shows the same clock used in Corvairs and all trucks:

Dash-mounted, as in, on top of dash, was an option, but there were no clock options for a clock located in the dash cluster on the '60-'66 Chevy trucks. The illustrations clearly identify this option, in the 1960-1966 Chev/GMC Trucks Factory Assembly Instruction Manual.

Since this is the '60-'66 Chevy truck forum, I did not include the cars of this era. The car clocks make a good candidate for donors for the trucks.

I'd love to find something that fits in the ashtray hole, like it was meant to be there.

Brad,

In the options catalog of the GMC truck they did offer a dash mounted. See these pictures. I would be surprised that the chevy models would not have the option. I have both the dash tach. and clock.

You can right click the photo's and save as to your files.

whatever you come up with is probably better than what the PO did to my truck's ash tray hole: a wood panel with a cheap oil temp gauge. dang
