In the mean time, does it have a torque tube connection at the rear, or open drive tailshaft, is there a parking brake mount on the tailshaft??? Mine is in a 1954 3104... I have not seen a transmission cast identification web site like there is for engine blocks... To post pics here you have to have them on an off site host like one of these ... Once your pics ore on the host site you need to be in the Full Reply Mode... Select the Icon next to the Smiley Face and a pop up will appear, then copy and past your link address and click OK ( make sure you are not logged in on your host site, you must be in Guest Mode or your link address will not work) then a new pop up will appear, give your link a name/title click OK and your set...

First domestic production GMC to have a Hydra-Matic was in a 1952 PM-150-22.
In 1953, GMC had the H-M transmission as an option in 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton trucks (100, 150, 250).
In 1954, when Chevrolet trucks first had a H-M as an option in 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton trucks, GMC had several versions of Hydra-Matics for almost all sizes of it trucks. This included a 21 forward gear oddity (which was basically two Hydra-Matics mated side-by-side, connected to a shared output shaft).
As stated above, the transmission ID plate (on the transmission or on the engine) would be the most convenient way to ID the transmission.

This will be going up for sale soon. Have trans, bell and adapter for 6 cyl., some column linkage and starter.
NO TORUS OR FLYWHEEL.
