so my question is would a 230 fit without major modification's in the 38 truck?

i did some searches but turned up blank so hope some one can help me out.

I have a 250 in my 37, its a tight fit at the radiator and firewall, but it will fit. If you get the right bellhousing, you should be able to use the stock drivetrain. Make some side mounts to hold the engine in front and you got it made.

You wont be able to hook up the original rear end easily to a 230 so keep on looking for a 235,I dont think there vere was a bellhousing made that would bolt on a torque tube compatable trans to the later motors.

I was wrong, I was thinking of the early bellhousing with side mounts. Sorry for the miss information. I don't really understand all the manual transmission swapping and parts interchange, I just remember guys looking for the right bellhousing for some reason.
