i ordered a new oil line that runs from oil pump to rockers and after looking at it more it looks like it must come in pieces....the line goes down from the rockers to the passenger side of block right in front of the distributor above the lifters......now my question is....does the oil line unbolt there for a simple partial replacement or do i have to pull the oil pan and replace the whole line............

Check your e-mail. I sent you a pic of the oil line routing.

The oil line is all one piece. It goes through the block and attaches to the oil galley on the other side. No need to take off the oil pan, but drain the cooling system if it isn't already dry.

Just did a search and it looks like this post is related to my problem. Which hole in the head does this oil line go through? I tore this engine down 9 years ago, and did not take a picture.

Thanks for any help - picutes, diagram, hole count from front or rear.

The pushrod side between cylinders 3 & 4 on my '38. I don't know if your '50 is the same. Someone will chime in if it's different.

Sorry folks for the dumb question. Pretty obvious once you sit the valve rocker assembly in place. Got the head on and ready to torque.

The only dumb question is the one that doesn't get asked.

Here's the page out of the '41 manual. It doesn't show a picture as the '38 manual does. While the connection at the distributor valve will be different the routing through the water jacket should be the same.
