I am a fan of the older trucks, and have had a 70 3/4 4x4 suburban and a 1970 Blazer 4x4, and I dabble in parts for the older trucks when they come into the junkyard near me, as I hate seeing them getting crushed. Little about my blazer. It's actually going to end up being a Jimmy, since that's what the body is, but the frame is the 1970 Blazer frame (I have titles for both) The drivetrain was rebuilt when I got it, and it pretty good, although the wiring needs to be re-done, as it basically wasn't there when I got it. Has disc brakes up front, and all new master and booster on it. Interior is pretty basic, and needs some work as well. Needs the floors re-done and the quarters and a-pillars cleaned up. The truck loaded itself and unloaded itself from the trailer under it's own power. Since getting it, i collected a ton of parts, but did little work to it. I removed the front clip, started trying to figure out the wiring and put new rims and tires on it. That's it. It's jsut been sitting since.
I also had a 1970 3/4 GMC Suburban 4x4. This was a 350/TH350/NP205 truck. It was a monster. I ended up buying it for the front clip and gas tank, and parted the rest out. Still have the drive train for this too, just in case I need a spare.

At least someone will actually benefit from it.
You could be building a parts stash for your own AD truck when you get it......
BTW how's the survival rate for 50s iron in upstate NY?
Has the climate taken it's toll?

Since living in NY for the past 23 years I have gotten used to the rust.
