I bought replacement bed aprons about a year ago and went to put the brackets on today and they don't seem to be right. I threw out the originals two years ago because they were shot(i know rookie mistake). It looks like they could be 'persuaded' to fit.
Have you tried to pull the apron lip over to the bolt hole in the bracket?
Unfortunately most panels now have to be 'modified' in some way to acheive a good fit,although I would have expected yours to be a bit closer than they are.

Then rework the support brackets, no point in reworking the brackets first if the aprons don't fit. | | |
