China does not know when to sharpen their dies!! I want to deburr these edges so my hands don't get ripped to shreads when washing or waxing. After I deburr them, what should I put on these areas to protect the bare metal that will be exposed - and sorta blend in with the chrome? | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | Welcome to the world of far east reproductions. all of the reproduced bumper that I've seen are made this way. The problem is they didn't take the extra 5 minutes to deburr the parts. Had they done that one wouldn't be able to tell them from the original ones. My original bumpers have a nicely round over edge, you can still see some of the grinding marks where they deburred them.
If you grind of the chrome your have opened it up to rust for sure and the plating will probably begin to lift at those points in the near future.
