I've got a '66 longbed and the bed's in pretty sad shape. I've been thinking about building a longbed stepside. Has anyone out there done this?

Could you not take two short step side beds and graft them together , mounting the fenders in the appropriate place ? Would seem to be easier than fabricating a whole new bed? " Just thinking out loud " ?

Hadn't thought about that. Only prob. is cost of scrap has gone thru the roof around these parts. Might be hard to find 2 beds.
