For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 222 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 222 | Please, I need some help from someone who is familiar with the shifter and linkage on a 49 panel truck. I replaced the shifter a month ago because the old one was sloppy, now the linkage binds more than ever. What I can't seem to discern is this, the shifter rods from the transmission (three on the tree)how much of the linkage rod is supposed to protrude through each of the shifter connections. I find half an inch in the wrong direction and two of the gears are gone. Can anyone help me determine How much of each rod is to protrude through each of the connection to the shifter. Thank you in advance for your help

Thank you, I appreciate it. You are the first to have an answer to a question I have been asking for months.
God bless,
