I've heard this hobby can be addictive, and now I guess I'm living proof. With my '41 Chevy 3/4 ton all in pieces and about half way through a restoration, today I bought a '40 3/4 ton as a second project. Yes, maybe I AM crazy! My intention is to restore two old trucks, one for each of my two sons to inherit one day when I'm ready to check out. In the picture taken today, my son Jason, 32, is standing in the back of the truck and my son Jordan, almost 20, is driving. It was a good day today and a memorable experience with my two boys.

Great looking trucks to start out with - the new(ly acquired) 40 looks just great - and it's a driver - how cool is that --- you and your boys will have many more great times with them, and on Stovebolt you should be able get any advice/help you need in restoring, repairing etc. Where did you find that neat new 40?? Enjoy!!!

Amazingly I bought the '40 locally. The seller had acquired it as an old farm truck on what we call the "highline" in the northern part of Montana. The '41 had been sitting in a barn in southwestern Montana for the past 10 years, but it was originally a North Dakota truck. Interestingly, both trucks were made in the same plant at Janesville, WI.
