Bill | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 13 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 13 | thanks everyone for the information. not sure whether i'll make an offer on the truck i mentioned but the information will be useful regardless. and smugmug thanks for the pictures, very helpfull. i guess i don't have to worry so much about frame swaps etc since there is no way to track it as long as the frame is the proper application for the year cab. to be honest i am used to fords (have a 63 f250 4x4 stepside) and they have both frame and door matching vin so people like me are a little anal about the numbers matching up. i like any brand of old american made truck though so - gotta get a chevy or gmc. god forbid i might even snag a dodge sooner or later. thanks again. scott

Bill chevrolets have them but GMC's don't and I did say GMC. don't know why but that is the way it was or is ron | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 | perhaps that is a chev frame under that truck. I notice that it has rear coil suspension, not common with GMC but was optional. had to be ordered that way ron | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | even odder Ran, that a Chevy frame wouldn't have the number stamped on it, or would have those other numbers Kieth might do better to contact someone at the 60-66GMC clubBill | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 | chev have the nbrs there. that looks like a frame part#n the side of the frame There is a consensus on the gmc board that there is no ser # stamped on the frames ron | | |
