First had a problem with the crank arms trying to rotate around the shaft. Ground a little off of those where the bolt and nut crank down to get them a bit tighter. Now, with everything hooked up, when I step on my gas pedal, I only have about 1 or 2 inches of pedal travel before the carbs are at full throttle. Am I missing something in the way I set the linkage up? Would like a bit more pedal so I don't go from 0 to 60 instantly. | | |

That should alter the vertical movement of the rod that connects to the linkage. Doesn't cost anything to drill another hole and it might just do the trick.
I replaced the philips head bolt with a 7/16-20, cut out the opening so I could get more squeeze!
When I get it the way I want it I'll put a little tack weld on the underside of it. Don't see any reason why I'd be wanting to ever take it apart once it was set up correctly. However, that 0-60 instantly sounds like it might be fun!!!!

I agree that the bellcrank is the culprit. When you say 1 or 2 inches you are allowing a 100% leeway. One is not enough but two is all there is (approx)and it makes a big difference where you are measuring it at. Two on the pedal is about right but that translates to something less on the vertical rod, at least on mine. | | |

If not, maybe I'll try the extra bellcrank hole. I was wondering if you are experiencing any heat realted issues with the fuel block so close to the fentons? Maybe not this time of year. What about the carb jetting?

Wasn't satisfied with the tightness of the linkage from the pedal to the bellcrank and then up to the throttle shaft lever arm. Will post some pics this weekend of the neat fittings I bought to align the linkages and make the action smoother. Kent: I have not run the truck on the road as yet but I think that the fuel log will be okay where it is. Being attached to the Offy intake and actually standing off of that by 1/4" or more should get me plenty of air movement.
