I found a couple of posts relating to this but wanted to get more feedback on who has installed their 'new' firewall pad in an assembled AD truck. I'm not restoring my '53 3100 yet, just gutting and replacing the mouse nest infested and torn interior pieces...which is everything. I will probably remove the heater but was hoping that would be it. Thanks.

Allan,

The main items that you will have to deal with are cables/wires that go from under the dash through the firewall. You could cut "slits" in the cover from the top edge downwards; or, you could disconnect those wires/cables on the engine side of the firewall and pull them back through the firewall (and back through the old pad, if it is still there).

I installed The ABS style firewall pad in my 50
...picture link...

There is some trimming involved.
It’s thick ABS with Jute backing.
Tuff stuff
It would not be enjoyable with everything "assembled"

Good luck

Good tips and great photos. I think I will take Tim's advice and do what I can to pull wiring and cables back through...after labeling of course... dang

Thanks.
