After 5 and a half years I finally have color on my truck. I'm so happy to see something other than gray primer.

Hood and rear fenders still need to be done but I have a lot of work to do in the meantime. I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Brilliant! What is the 30's ride beside it?

I'm hoping all the seniors around here will see me coming and not pull out in front of me!

Vern,
Not sure what year that rod is but it's a Ford. It has a completely chromed out Boss 302 in it and the top is chopped.

Truck looks terrific! Looks like you did a great job on the body before painting and the paint looks absolutely wonderful. Is it two stage paint? did you paint it with the doors on, if so how difficult was it to paint the door jambs (hinge side)?

This is a single stage paint, but the body guy said that he mixes clear into the paint. I've never heard of doing that, but the results are great. We painted the jams with the doors off, then reattached and sprayed the body. I don't see how you could do it with the doors on and get a good result. There is just so much metal in those jams. Go backward in my photo album and you will see the steps involved.

Glass should be going in today and will have the truck back home this weekend. Now the fun starts with adding all the bling chrome pieces.

Looks great! Now the fun part is putting it back together without scratching it. Use lots of tape!!!!!

It's amazing just how much more complete it will look with the glass in.

Just watch that paint when you're fitting the 'jewellery'! wink
