I am in the process of cleaning up my motor compartment and all that is within it. Have already stripped and repainted the motor, new fuel pump, wiring, alternator...etc. I took off my exhaust due rust and lots of holes in the pipe. I then took off my manifold and cleaned and painted. I want to put on a dual exhaust system...but I want to keep the original intake manifold. The truck has a Rochester single barrel..but after reading alot of posts...I don't want any leaking or problems after spending months cleaning the motor area.
I don't know squat about carbs...
I do know that I want a daily driver no speed demon... I don't want Dual Carbs....

I live in the Santa Cruz Mtns. So thats my terrain. I want it to work good with the dual exhaust also. I will be using the stock choke cable and would like to have the Throttle cable hook up...since it's on my dash...if I can't I'll just have a dummy knob.

Any and all opinions welcome.
ps..I don't want to spend a fortune either.

Thanks Guys

I'm going thru some carb issues to, I think the best thing to do is go with the Langdon carb settup for 155.00 You get the carb, the adaptor plate, the linkage, and the air cleaner ,and every one says they run great. And You'll be done and have a good running engine and down the road the carb is rebuildable so the settup will last .

Langdon's Stovebolt Engine Company sells a few different carbs for dual-carb set-ups.

Holley-Weber
Carter-Weber

Maybe someone will comment about using only one of these on a 235? (you say you want a single carb set-up)

Does Langdon's sell a single carb set-up? His website has not been working recently.

And then, there's the option of rebuilding the "rot-pot" you've got now. The standard knock on these carbs are warpage of the individual castings and wear at the throttle shaft.

If you do some internet searches you'll find easy solutions for these issues. I didn't have either of these problems when I rebuilt my "B" 6 years ago. No leaks, good performance at all engine speeds. I know I'm probably in the minority here but in my opinion the ol' "B" is a good carb for the 235.

I like my Rochester B too. This subject is like a religion. I expect this thread may grow a bit!

Yeah, I'm probably blessed with a "good" Rochester too. Since I've taken possession the motor has ran really well. I just sent mine off to be rebuilt I hope my luck continues with this carb.
