1. How does the ignition switch lock assembly install into the switch body?
2. Does the '52 ignition switch have a trim ring. Mine appears to just poke through the dash hole.
3. I am rewiring using an "EZ-Wire" kit. So far, it's been a breeze to work with. I've hit a snag with my ignition switch hook-up. The kit has a drawing shoiwing an ignition switch with a center pole and 3 outside poles, but the Chevy has only three outside poles. They are sort of in a "Peace sign" formation (one leg seperated slightly from the other two). How should I hook up the following supplied wires: Power, Start, Accessory, Coil,and ignition? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | It clips internally and the small hole in the cover is how you remove it (you must have the key inserted) stick a paper clip in the small hole you will feel it compress a spring turn and remove. The factory switch has no ring it just comes through the hole. On your switch it installs with two prongs on the top the one dead center on the bottom like a Y. The one going down is battery (headlight switch goes to that one) the one to the left is ignition the gas gauge goes to there so does the wire to the + side of the coil. The other one is the accessories terminal I believe I have nothing going to it since I used a seperate fused board for accessories.
