What and how is a good way to remove general build up from the frame and other painted surfaces. The paint is in good shape so I just want to clean the surface, don't need to get to bare metal.

Car washes also work great for this since they have hot water, or find someone with a steam cleaner. For the tough spots a little acetone and 3M pads with lots of elbow grease. Lots of old disposable rags to soak up the mess. | | |
