Will the gears mesh correctly? Or do you need a different cut gear?
Thanks guys for the info!

Not too bad if it has shafts both front and back but a problem if there's only one shaft and it now faces the wrong end of the truck. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | The PTO must be assembled differently and that can only be done on double gear units. If yours is a single gear then the short answer is no. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 67 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 67 | It is a single gear. And after further inspection, I see what you guys are saying. The gear is now in the front instead of the back. However, I think I can relocate the pillow bearing to get it to work on that side. FYI - I'm putting the SM465 in a 42 G506 dump. I'm not even sure what the stock trans is - but it had a PTO on the drivers side and the SM465 had it on the passenger side. The PTO on the stock trans is the same bolt pattern as the SM465 but it has a strait cut gear so that won't work. However, I think I may have it figured out now with some minor fab work. Thanks for the info, guys. Jeff
