You did not state the year and size engine (and it is not in your profile). You prior posts refer to a 261 (maybe a 1959) and a 235 (maybe a 1954).
What year and size engine?

Only a bypass filter ban be used with the 1/8" tee off of the oil pressure gage fitting. The link that Curt provided is for the full-flow filter, using 3/8" fittings. I installed a full-flow filter using those instructions. However, subsequent research has just about convinced me that a good bypass filter may be better. I am going to build my 49(with a 1954 235) with a bypass filter and plan on schedualed oil changes. These engines were built to last and the filter was an option at the time! | | | | Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 305 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 305 | i am speaking mainly about the 54 235 engine i do have a 261 however i don't know what year it is since there is nothing stamped on the pad by the dist i would do that too. the ext oil canister was given to me plus i have another one that is currently on the 216 that i will replace with the 235 (going into a 51 3100)
i am leaning toward the bypass filter. is there a diagram of how that would be set up? thanks
