hey all,

I got a 1963 GMC 4x4 1/2 ton with a 327 engine, edlebrok 600 cfm (poly prine riser), 31x10.50R15 tires, 3.54 differential and I just installed a 300 lb WC T5 5 speed trans.

My RPM in fifth gear is a bit doggier then I'd like at about 1700-1800 RPM's at 65-70 MPH. I got an extra rear end and front end with 4.11 differential in my shed that came in cahoots with the truck when I bought it.

I was thinking that 4.11 differential would put this whole set up at maximum performance rather than the 3.54 that I am running now.

Question:
1. What do you all think of that?
2. Is there much involved with goign from a 3.54 to a 4.11? ie: are some of what I have interchangeable?
3. Expensive?
4. Should I just leave it all as is?

Thanks for any response.

I changed mine FROM the 4.11 to the 3.54 last year. The price of gas just got too high.
