I have a snag in my 235 rebuild. The timing back plate is missing. I have contacted the original owner to see if he has it but if not my question is...

Will the back plate and timing cover fromm my 1953 216 fit as a replacement for the one on my 1954 235?

I don't want to dismantle the 216 but if I must!!!!!

Thanks
Rich

Try a post in the parts wanted forum- - - -I'll bet somebody out there has a trashed-out engine they'd be willing to dismantle, rather than tearing down a complete engine for just the plate.

Jerry,
Good Idea I am reaching out to everyone. I have sent several pMs to folks I know have these engines and to the previous owner of the engine I have. We must have missed this when we were collecting up the parts. He has quite a store house.

Yes I would hate to tear up the old 216 but will if I need to to get my new engine running. I can always put the plate I find on that engine...it is going into storage.

ThanksGuys
Rich
