The owner said that with the lift at the elevator and his 10 kids that he just didn't need the extra expense. This truck is all original except for a 1950's insert bearing 235, from original owner. I even have copy of original 1949 title Can't wait until spring to go get the truck out of the snow. My question is this: I have the ability to get a hoist and pump for this truck to convert it over to a dump bed. It has the original sm420 in it but no pto. I need to know what pto will fit. Have a few that I can purchase, but don't know what brands/numbers I need or what to look for in a used pto. Sorry if this is already in a post, I just couldn't find this information anywhere. Thanx

I recently tried to replace the worn unit. Brought it to my local Clelses dealer who called the factory. Factory could build one to replace it. About $500. Get the tranny numbers and forward them to the Chelsea Dana type suppliers that can be found on the internet. I`m sure you can find a rebuilt or new unit. | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | I have not been able to find either a Parker or Muncie assembly that has a gear for the SM420. You'll likely have to find a used one somewhere. I have one for the CH465 but don't know for sure if the gear is the same. As I recall they are different so no help there either. I used to keep both of them in stock all the time when I had the equipment business but that was in the 70's. I'm going to a convention in a couple of weeks and will get the info from both Muncie and Parker/Chelsea. | | | | Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 32 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 32 | 53moneypit, Hope you can find out the info for all of us looking.
