As the foot feed is pressed the linkage slides up and down the wire without moving it. The clamp on the end Bill referred to is called a wire or cable stop. It simply clamps to the wire to keep it from pulling through the hole in the linkage when you pull the knob. The set up is a bit more obvious on my '38.

| | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | further on what Tiny sez, the cable pulls the linkage rod to increase throttle and maintain that as a minimum, if you then push the pedal it opens the carb more without affecting the hand cable position .... looking at it from the other direction, the hand throttle prevents the foot feed from coming all the way back to idle, so it doesn't act like modern cruise control, the use of the foot feed doesn't affect it
