just made a deal on a 1965 gmc 4000 series fire truck 500 gallon tank mid truck pump deal is pending in person walk around and hearing it run. friends and family say im like a kid in a candy store pics will follow the walk around on sunday of this week

Congrats again Hillbilly!! Looks like a great truck. Only the studliest of men own '65 GMC 4000's! Be prepared for all the supermodels and movie starlets who will throw themselves at you from now on -- it can be a little overwhelming at first.

John is right about a Fire truck being a "Babe Magnet". That was an option I did not know it came with. I don't know how many gals I have met that just stop by and ask if their kids can look at it when it's in the yard and the ladder is up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not shopping for a new gal, just surprised at the attention it gets.

What brand of fire body does it have? Lights and Siren? Does it come with hard suctions? How about ladders? Wood or Metal? Any hose included? What color?

The fire bolt was purchased it should be delivered this week or next week depending on the weather pics will be posted tonight so yes another Jimmy in the firehouse

Sweet truck! For a minute I thought it was Millimans truck... then I noticed that the hood wasn't up and it didn't have 6 legs sticking out (three people working on the carb)!

I guess I shouldn't be hazing John three days before he comes here. I'll take my whippin' like a man.

Good looking rig. The ladders and hard suction are a plus. All you need is some gee-gaws (fire-extinguishers) and jim-cracks (spanner wrenches) and a hose load and you're ready for the muster circuit.

Who made the pump body, it doesn't seem to be immediately recognizable.

Great looking Firebolt. You will be amazed at the attention it will get just by parking it in your front yard. It does not take long and people are using it as a landmark for directions.

That SUCKS! Yeah, could probably have been worse, but still, shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Before you file your final lawsuit papers against the shipper, check CAREFULLY underneath - I'd be pretty surprised if some of the pump plumbing didn't take a hit. That area usually has the drain line from the pump, and/or the booster tank-to-pump line in it. Neither one of those is flexible, and damage would be relayed to other parts easily.

On the other hand, if it IS just the running board, than there's hope for a pretty clean fix. AND, the rest of the truck DOES look nice! Very clean. Should be reliable.

Sorry to see the mishap. I'm glad to see that it didn't break when the front end was on the ramps. Anytime I ever have to unload anything like that, I always would look for an elevated area to back up to, although they can be hard to find sometimes.

i must admit i had to walk away to keep from saying a few choose words i was hot. Going to work on it this afternoon and strightin it out. and polish on it a little bit

The mishap you had is common in using ramps. I never use them. I either find a loading dock or use 2 forklifts and lift one end at a time. In chis instance I used 2 forklifts and a loader.

What were they using for ramps? Looks like a 4X4 on the left side, and why the different lengths?? That operation was doomed before it even started. I would have been REALLY [censored]!!!!

thay were all 4 the same length when we started i had to cut the one down to imprivise to get it off the truck today i took the running board off and straightened it up have to fix the braces still will post more pics tomarrow after i fix them.
