I Finished up getting my bell housing ready to install back into the frame and went to "test fit" it and found that the replacement motor mounts seem to be wider than the originals were. The bolt holes that go through the mounts and into the frame line up nicely but the mounts do not sit flat on the cross member which certainly can not be correct. Do I need to cut down these replacement motor mounts to make them fit? I believe I have them in correctly so it certainly leads me to think I need to cut them down. rear motor mounts Anybody out there with a 41-46 that can snap a photo for me? Tim

If so then you need part number ME218. It fit my bellhouseing & frame correctly. I believe ME218 is in a later year catalog. Look into it, it worked for me. | | |

This is not the first time I have found their catalog to be incorrect. A couple times I have brought things to their attention and they corrected it in the next version of the catalog. Based on my records I ordered ME217. I'll call them tomorrow and see if they will help me out. I bought these in January of 2006 so it should be interesting. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the input....again!!!

I bought them a year ago from Chevs of the 40's. The ones that you got look wider than mine......but WOW! is your bell housing clean! | | |

Tim p.s.; as for the bell housing....I had it dipped and it came out like a brand new casting.

I just replaced mine on my '50, 3604 and those look exactly like the ones I got from Chevy Duty. I'm unfamiliar with the earlier mounts.
Where did you have that dipped at??? Looks great, I'd clear coat that.
