Hi! My name is Kerry, and I'd like to tell you about my C30. It all started when I was just a boy, and my Dad had a 65 Panel that his company gave him to use for service calls. I can still remember sitting in the passenger seat, "helping" him shift that big old 4 speed stick. Somehow, I just knew I would have a truck like that someday! Fast forward 46 years.....I am working out the final stages of my C30 project. I spotted this truck in 1999, sitting at a garage next to a highway that I used to frequent. It was an ugly purple, and appeared to be a retired firetruck, but I could never catch anyone there to ask if it was for sale. It was perfect! It had the 4 speed stick, and showed only 29,000 on the odometer! I stopped every time I went by, but there was never anyone there. Finally one day, I left a note on the door to the place, and asked them to call me. About six months passed, and one day the phone rang.......it was the owner of the truck, saying he had decided to sell it if I was still interested. I dropped everything and made the trip out to negotiate a deal. The truck came home, and with great enthusiasm I began to dissassemble the sheet metal, and sand blast and epoxy prime every part, as I took them off. I was making great progress that summer, and then I met a girl... (my wife) ... Suddenly, the progress fell off, and the truck got parked out in back, and sadly got neglected for almost 9 years. Luckily, I put all the pieces in the top of my barn, and labled them with all the hardware in plastic bags. 2.5 years ago, I decided to bring the old girl up to the garage, and see if I could get her to run again.....my thoughts were that I would just get it running, and maybe do a quick paint job on it, and use it around the property. Well one thing lead to another, and pretty soon I was back to my original plan of making this truck "as new" again. I am getting close now......all that's left is the wheels and tires, and re-doing the flat bed that I purchased to replace the firetruck body that was originally on it. I hope to be driving it this summer, and my daughter will be sitting in the passenger seat this time.....It's not a panel like Dad's was, but I think of him every time I sit in it, and feel that shifter slide into gear! What shade of blue is that? It seems close to my color or GM Canyon Blue.

Thanks for the kind words guys! The blue that I chose was New Holland blue (as in the tractor) I couldn't decide what blue to go with, and then one day, I was standing there looking at my tractor, and thought "that would look pretty good on the truck" so there you have it! I plan on towing the tractor with the truck occasionally, so it ought to look kinda cool.

That's a cool truck! Congratulations on a nice find. I agree--it's fun to shift those 4 speeds!
