Windshield took 15 minutes and about 15 minutes for each of the back doors. As I suspected - small worm gear assembly is completely worn out. Rest of the unit is in very good shape. Since my unit will not "core" with any supplier, I will have to repair this one (or fork over $300!!!!). I am pretty sure that I can make any good gear set work on my components. The retainer was a (booger) until I figured out the trick. We couldn’t get the corner window rubber to stay in place to get the window in. Tried tape, ty-wraps, wire, but the corners kept popping out. Then put the window on the bench and ran a bead of weatherstrip adhesive in the rubber and placed it around the window with tape holding it on until it dried. Next day we installed it like you would a windshield (only from the inside out) and it popped right in. Added the retainer and it’s done. Tonight we do the other corner. While waiting for the glue to set I insulated the cab and cut and fit the carpet padding. More pictures to follow………………… John ’53 5 window

She ran great with a little loss of power above 3500 feet and a lot of lost power above 4500. The arm fell off the brake light switch on the way to Tucson. I was on my way to Mothertrucker Parts to pick up my burb seats so I was able to change the switch there. Then at my last fuel stop today I noticed fuel dripping from the pump. I think the diaphragm is busted.

As we went to install it slipped out of my hand, bounced off the side of the truck, hit the tire and then right into a bucket of old anti-freeze I’ve been meaning to dispose of. The window was like a greased pig to hold, but it just almost popped in by itself. I purchased a paint can opener like the article in helpful hints said. It really made the job easy. In the process I learned I need to make some changes to the dolly for better fitment and such. Now I am down to a rolling frame. Soon to be heading off to the sandblaster.
