I got my windows installed, split front windshield and the back doors. Windshield took 15 minutes and about 15 minutes for each of the back doors. I had an auto glass installer give me a hand, cost me $50.

If it warms up today I will finish the the new steering column and the steering shaft setup. It was -2degrees here last night. Garage is still very cold even with the torpedo heater fired up!

Finally got the dash off so I could remove the windshield regulator. As I suspected - small worm gear assembly is completely worn out. Rest of the unit is in very good shape. Since my unit will not "core" with any supplier, I will have to repair this one (or fork over $300!!!!). I am pretty sure that I can make any good gear set work on my components. So, the search is on!

Got the back window in (with the help from my wife). The retainer was a (booger) until I figured out the trick. We couldn’t get the corner window rubber to stay in place to get the window in. Tried tape, ty-wraps, wire, but the corners kept popping out. Then put the window on the bench and ran a bead of weatherstrip adhesive in the rubber and placed it around the window with tape holding it on until it dried. Next day we installed it like you would a windshield (only from the inside out) and it popped right in. Added the retainer and it’s done. Tonight we do the other corner. While waiting for the glue to set I insulated the cab and cut and fit the carpet padding.

Got the ididit column installed, now need to drill some holes to pin it!. Motor mount is in the way to use the set screw, so out it comes again to hit it with the drill press so we can pin it.

Didn't get a whole lot physically done but took the time to make a 'To-Do' list,i've just realised i've still got loads and it's all the little time consuming jobs.

Plus... wheels and tyres next, decisions,decisions.....

I got the burb home today from a 2222 mile trip. She ran great with a little loss of power above 3500 feet and a lot of lost power above 4500. The arm fell off the brake light switch on the way to Tucson. I was on my way to Mothertrucker Parts to pick up my burb seats so I was able to change the switch there. Then at my last fuel stop today I noticed fuel dripping from the pump. I think the diaphragm is busted.

It was a fun and exciting trip.

Cletis, that's one heck of a shake-down run, glad it was reasonably 'uneventful'.

It's not a fuel leak,it's just sweat from doing all those miles! grin

Got the last window in. As we went to install it slipped out of my hand, bounced off the side of the truck, hit the tire and then right into a bucket of old anti-freeze I’ve been meaning to dispose of. The window was like a greased pig to hold, but it just almost popped in by itself. I purchased a paint can opener like the article in helpful hints said. It really made the job easy. It worked way better than the tool they sell.

Got the 3.55 gears installed tonight and still too much snow for a test drive, the 235 did not like the 2.79 gears so I hope this helps. Had to move the Harley out of the garage to do it and thought I was never going to get it back in.

That's a fine looking 37 Jeff, but do you really need that tool box on the floorboard? lol

Replaced the battery, cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, pulled out the seat and junk from the box, vacuumed the box and cab. Found 28 cents, 5 mouse traps (all empty) and a Fun Time Arcade token.
I deduced the previous owner was a sheet rocker by the sheet rock screw holding the cup holder to the dash.

Speaking of "back of cab insulation", for quite a while it has bothered me that the double sheet metal on the back of the cab resonates with a ton of echos and you aren't able to insulate it. I have been looking at the Touch 'n Seal product for insulation. Has anyone worked with this stuff?

Finished fabricating brackets and installing my puller fan and my air conditioner condenser and thermostat. I hope to install rear glass and windshield glass tomorrow. Hopefully I will start it on Saturday. I plan on making videos to mark this, the day 4.5 years after buying it.

Finally got the last two bolts in where the rad support fastens to the fender. My hands are too big to reach through the grill to hold the nut, but my sons gf is so tiny, she managed to get both hands in there. Also put the hood on, but I need to line it up still.

removed the cab from the frame and got it on the newly constructed dolly. In the process I learned I need to make some changes to the dolly for better fitment and such. Now I am down to a rolling frame. Soon to be heading off to the sandblaster.
