Hi have a quick question My truck is the original 6 volt But the heater actually look Brand new very little wear imaculate paint heating coil and motor all look a lot less than the age of the truck. I Took the heater Power lead put it on the battery and got a very weak turning fan, and sometimes It wont move at all, after disconnecting The battery I clamped a 12 remote jumper box too the heater case connected the other too the power lead and the thing was like a leaf blower, the 50 odd years of accumalted dust in the vent hoses quickly being blown all over the cab. Making it reminisant of what I have seen of the dust storms of the 30's. My question is Do you think I have a replacement 12 volt heater that has been put in by mistake. It definatly Does not look the age of the truck

Ok will post some photos later when I get back from work. I will say when I had the heater out the truck And pulled apart I couldnt find any markings on the motor . But I did put my battery drill on the shaft and turned it over for like 5 minutes and it turns free connecting it directly too the 6 volt it turn but feebly , connecting it too 12 volts its like a leaf blower as I said I just wanted too know if they do move this much Air , was all really

Usually with the high rpms i would guess it is a 6 volt. i had the same thing with my 54. i had 12v when i got the heater, on high it did as you say but on low it barely turned.
